Job description

The Grounds Operations Manager leads and oversees large maintenance crews to complete a variety of grounds maintenance projects from start to finish. This role is pivotal in driving customer satisfaction, productivity, and team development to enhance the overall value of both the individual and the department. With a focus on strategic planning, effective communication, and strong leadership, the manager ensures the department operates efficiently, maintaining proper staffing, and fostering a culture of growth and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate large maintenance crews (16+ members) across mixed grounds maintenance projects
  • Plan and schedule tasks effectively using commercial scheduling software to maximize productivity
  • Set and forecast departmental goals that align with company objectives
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train the right personnel to build a skilled and motivated team
  • Manage employee performance through coaching, evaluation, and accountability measures
  • Maintain strong customer service standards and communicate professionally with clients and all organization levels
  • Analyze departmental metrics to identify areas for productivity improvement and team development
  • Make timely, informed decisions and communicate the big picture and daily plans clearly to the team
