Landscape Installation Field Crew Supervisor
Position Overview
The Landscape Construction Crew Leader is a hands-on supervisory position responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of commercial landscape installation projects. This role involves leading crews, managing subcontractors, reading blueprints, and executing full system irrigation, hardscape, and planting installations. The Crew Leader ensures all work is performed in accordance with plan specifications and Bland Landscaping Company criteria, while prioritizing safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities Included but Not Limited To:
Field Execution & Installation
  • Project Execution: Read and execute job plans and specifications to install plantings, lawns, irrigation systems, and hardscapes.
  • Manual Operations: Perform hands-on tasks including digging, tilling, raking, watering, and site clean-up.
  • Logistics: Load and unload heavy equipment and planting materials; handle bagged and bulk materials safely.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain equipment; drive company-owned vehicles (with or without trailers) in accordance with safety laws.
  • Irrigation: Adjust irrigation controllers and demonstrate basic knowledge of irrigation components.

Leadership & Supervision
  • Crew Management: Supervise and train installation crews, enforcing standards regarding positive attitude, work ethic, punctuality, and uniform policies.
  • Scheduling: Monitor daily work assignments for Bland Landscaping employees and subcontractors.
  • Safety: Conduct crew and department safety meetings and enforce the Company Safety Policy at all times.
  • Relations: Maintain professional on-site relations and communications with clients, general contractors, and subcontractors.

Administration & Operations
  • Planning: Plan, coordinate, and collect necessary equipment and materials for each day's tasks.
  • Reporting: Submit daily BOSS Mobile Timesheets and required administrative paperwork.
  • Communication: Communicate daily with the Production Manager regarding progress and planning; utilize technology effectively for communication.
  • Standards: Maintain truck and trailer cleanliness and standardization; manage job quality and labor hours effectively.
  • Seasonal Support: Assist in other divisions as needed and participate in snow removal during winter months.

Experience & Skills
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read landscape plans and specifications. Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and components.
  • Leadership: Experience supervising teams and managing daily workflows.
  • Driving: Safe driving record and ability to maneuver trucks with trailers.
