Job description

Hirani Engineering & Land Surveying is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Land Surveying Intern to join our growing Land Surveying Department. This internship provides hands-on exposure to both field and office surveying operations while offering valuable experience working alongside experienced survey professionals on a wide range of projects throughout New York City and the surrounding region. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in land surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related fields.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support office staff with processing survey data, drafting, and documentation Assist with preparation of survey drawings, maps, and reports Organize and maintain field notes, project files, and survey records Learn and assist with boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys Utilize survey software, CAD platforms, and related technology under supervision Coordinate with survey technicians, project managers, and field personnel Support quality control efforts to ensure accuracy and completeness of survey deliverables Follow all company safety procedures and field safety requirements Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operationsQUALIFICATIONS: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Construction Management, or related field Strong interest in land surveying Basic understanding of surveying principles and terminology preferred Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or related software is a plus Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Valid driver's license preferred WHAT WE OFFER: Hands-on industry experience working directly with three Licensed Professional Land Surveyors (PLS) Exposure to real-world surveying projects and office operations Experience utilizing the latest surveying technology, software, and data management systems Professional mentorship and technical development opportunities Collaborative and team-oriented work environment Opportunity for future full-time employment based on performance and business needs LOCATION: Based out of our Hicksville, NY office ABOUT US: Hirani Engineering & Land Surveying is a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm providing surveying, engineering, special inspections, environmental, and construction support services throughout the region.
