Timmons Group is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Land Development team in Raleigh, NC. The Project Engineer II/III will contribute to a wide range of land development projects-from residential neighborhoods to commercial developments and public spaces.
Project Engineer II/IIIs are Civil Engineers with 2 to 10 years' experience. The qualified individual will perform site development engineering and project management tasks for residential, commercial and public land development projects. Candidates should have experience with site civil design, permitting, and applicable software applications including AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. Projects will include a variety of land development site designs. In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include research, coordination, task management and team collaboration on design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
  • Designing site layouts, grading, utilities, and stormwater systems using Civil 3D and other modeling tools.
  • Performing engineering calculations and solving real-world design challenges.
  • Preparing technical specifications and construction documents.
  • Conducting research and writing objective reports to support project completion.
  • Assisting with cost estimates and construction planning.
  • Supporting field inspections and data collection.
  • Collaborating with clients, internal teams, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality results.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in land development engineering, including residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and/or other CAD software.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
