We’re seeking a Land Development Project Engineer with strong experience supporting commercial and residential site development projects. This role will focus on site layout, utility design, roadway design, erosion and sediment control, pavement design, and hydrologic analysis. The right person will bring solid technical design skills, strong Civil 3D experience, and the ability to support projects from early planning through final design and permitting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and support civil engineering designs for commercial and residential land development projects
  • Develop site layout plans including grading, drainage, utility, roadway, and pavement design
  • Produce engineering plans and construction documents using Civil 3D
  • Design utility systems including water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure
  • Support roadway and access design for private and public site development projects
  • Prepare erosion and sediment control plans in accordance with local and state requirements
  • Perform hydrologic and drainage calculations to support site development and storm water management
  • Coordinate project designs with internal teams, municipalities, utility authorities, and outside consultants
  • Assist with permitting, agency reviews, and responses to plan comments
  • Review project requirements, zoning constraints, and site conditions to develop practical design solutions
  • Support project scheduling, coordination, and technical deliverables across multiple active assignments
  • Work closely with project managers and senior engineers to keep projects on track and technically sound
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in land development engineering
  • Experience supporting commercial and residential development projects
  • Strong background in site layout, utility design, and roadway design
  • Experience with erosion and sediment control plan development
  • Experience with pavement design and hydrologic analysis
  • Ability to prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and construction documents
  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, storm water, and site development principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT or PE
  • Experience with local permitting and entitlement processes
  • Experience coordinating with municipalities, utility providers, and regulatory agencies
  • Strong understanding of site development design standards and construction practices
