Job description

The primary responsibility of this position is new product development for the Cove dishwasher brand. This role is accountable for the design and development of components and systems involved in the complete design of the dishwasher. It includes applying principles of fluid mechanics and heat transfer to improve dishwasher performance, enhance efficiency, and meet regulatory requirements.

This position also supports the transition of new designs into the production environment and assists with design-related issues for products currently in production. Additionally, the role involves working closely with the production team to analyze field service data, identify root causes, and develop design solutions.

Primary Responsibilities &Essential Accountabilities:

  • Generate and convert ideas into working design solutions, 3D modeling, drafting, tooling and testing while working both independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Design dishwasher system components including plastic parts, sheet metal, electro-mechanicals, structural members, etc.
  • Conduct cost analysis and other feasibility studies as required.
  • Lead tolerance stack-ups and content assessments to ensure assembly and fabrication capability.
  • Manage engineering change requests to move designs through development and production release processes.
  • Direct, review, and approve work done by Mechanical Designers.
  • Responsible for coordinating test plans with Lab Technicians, execute performance testing, and analyze data to validate design improvements and concepts.
  • Proficient at using diagnostic, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills to address issues related to design, agency, assembly, reliability, quality, fabrication, and testing.
  • Use of engineering calculations/systems to validate design changes.

  • Self-starter who can satisfy goals and timelines.

  • Effective and concise communication skills, both oral and written

  • Ability to use SolidWorks, MS Office (Excel) is required.

  • Ability to use FEA (Ansys), CFD (Fluent), LabView is a plus.

  • Self-Starter: Inspired to perform without outside help
  • Bachelor's or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years: Related engineering experience
