They execute test cases, identify and document bugs, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues. Typically, they work under the guidance of senior testers or quality assurance leads and gradually build their skills in areas such as test automation, bug tracking, and software development life cycles. Their work is essential for delivering reliable and user-friendly software products.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a junior software test engineer?

To thrive as a Junior Software Test Engineer, you need a solid understanding of software development life cycles, test case design, and basic programming or scripting skills, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. • Write clean, reusable automated API and UI tests
  • Maintain existing test suites, investigate failures, and improve test reliability
  • Create and improve tooling to effectively test our system at scale
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to make decisions on features, design, technology, and architecture
  • Contribute to internal documentation about the product

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated prowess at bug finding and reporting
    • Proven ability to develop test strategies independently
  • 2+ years experience in test automation

    • Test specification: Spock
    • Delivery and deployment: GitLab CI, Jenkins
  • Experience in functional non-UI test automation, e.g. at the API layer
  • Experience in testing distributed systems at scale
  • Experience in performance or scale testing of large systems

Our Culture

At Singlewire, we believe what we do truly matters. We're passionate about protecting people and helping organizations respond when it counts. We're a team of collaborators who support each other, work hard toward shared goals, and celebrate successes together.
