YOUR ROLE

As a RF Design Engineer on our team, you'll design antenna and RF path for radars used in Automotive applications including Safety and Autonomous Driving.

In your daily job you will:

  • Design and evaluation of new antenna systems and RF transceiver hardware.
  • Model antenna designs and RF path (PCB layer transitions) in HFSS, FEKO or equivalent packages.
  • Perform tolerance analysis to ensure compliance to systems requirements in high volume manufacturing.
  • Perform system level characterization via high frequency methods using computational tools.
  • Design and develop testing methods to validate fabricated antenna designs and RF path in laboratory settings (e.g. millimeter-wave test).
  • Compile test data and document test report.
  • Maintain lab equipment and test setups.
  • Create and maintain antenna drawings and release within the change management structure
  • Support radar systems engineer in developing new system concepts.
  • Support diagnosing and modifying existing antenna and RF designs.
  • Make presentation to various management and customers.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

  • [Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • 3+ years' experience on RF circuit test, RF subsystem test, antenna test, and test routine software development using Labview or similar scripting language.
  • Understanding of various RF materials and their applicability.
  • Hands on experience with laboratory test equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, harmonic mixers, etc.
  • Deep understanding of RF parameters, such as S-parameter, noise figure, IMD, IP3, phase noise, EIRP, etc., and their test method.
  • Knowledge of RF Transmitters, Receivers, Radar system, antenna theory and test method, analog and digital circuitry.
  • Design experience in high frequency printed circuit board (PCB) .
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Team player. Highly motivated, flexible, and well organized.

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • 5+ years of experience in antenna design.
  • Expert understanding of electromagnetics and computational methods.
  • Design experience in microwave passive components.
  • Proficient in the usage of HFSS and other computational electromagnetics packages.
  • Experience in radome characterization and modeling.
