The Test Solutions (TS) organization within the Hardware Engineering Discipline is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test equipment solutions for all Raytheon products.  We are hands-on designers who leverage the latest technologies, tools, and engineering practices to deliver state-of-the-art solutions across advanced engineering test systems. TS supports the full engineering life cycle, including proposals, planning, requirements definition, design, implementation, integration, verification, and transition to production.  

This position is focused on supporting the design, development, integration, and repair of electronics that support on-site factory operations for Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) test systems. The engineer will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop electrical and interconnect designs, integrate and verify EO/IR test system hardware, and ensure reliable performance throughout production testing. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting and repairing electronic hardware used in factory test operations, maintaining test system readiness, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is 100% on site in McKinney, TX.

What You Will Do

  • Troubleshooting hardware for test equipment development.
  • Maintain Test Equipment systems for a factory/production environment which exercises and analyzes hardware deliverable products.
  • Collaborate with team to develop test systems, cabling, test interface adapters (ITAs), circuit designs, schematic creation, and documentation tasks such as drawings creation and existing drawings updates.
  • Support multiple efforts including design improvements, integration, validation, verification, and maintenance of special test equipment (STE).
  • Prioritize, handle, and lead multiple tasks in a production environment.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with analysis, test, troubleshooting and interpreting schematics.
  • Experience with factory/laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software (Ex. oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters).

Qualifications Prefer

  • Experience with EO/IR test systems in a production environment.
  • Experience utilizing integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software.
  • Experience developing and integrating automated test stations/systems.
  • Experience with common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, or RS-422.
  • Experience with NI software such as LabVIEW, TestStand, or other test software programming languages.
  • Understanding of UUT/ATE test software requirements, design, implementation, integration, validation, and verification process events.
  • Technical writing skills and an ability to collaborate with a cross functional team of professionals.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
