Job description

CWM is seeking a reliable and hardworking Laborer to join our team. This position involves performing various tasks on job sites, with duties that may change depending on the specific needs of each project. The Laborer will assist in the general operation of the job site, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Flag traffic to ensure the safety of workers and the public on active job sites.
  • Set up and maintain erosion control measures to protect the site and surrounding areas.
  • Load and unload materials as required for project needs.
  • Shovel and rake dirt, gravel, and asphalt, preparing surfaces for further work.
  • Perform general site cleanup, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Check and maintain grade stakes to ensure correct elevation and alignment.
  • Set up and maintain traffic control aids (signs, barriers, etc.) to manage site traffic.
  • General maintenance of all equipment and tools used on the job site.
  • Assist in any other duties as directed by supervisors.
Physical Requirements:
  • The position requires periods of standing, walking, stooping, and bending.
  • Ability to climb equipment ladders to reach the operator's seat.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
  • Ability to work in varied weather conditions and outdoor environments.
Qualifications:
  • Must be willing to work weekends as needed.
  • Previous construction or labor experience is a plus.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
