Job Summary

Works under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services/Asst. Director/and or Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Performs venipunctures on adults and pediatrics and micro collections on infants. Participates in data entry, specimen processing and communicates with clients to help resolve specimen concerns as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job RequirementsMinimum Education Requirement:

High school diploma or equivalency preferred.

Minimum Experience Requirement:

Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical/laboratory terminology required. Two year acute care hospital laboratory experience preferred. One to two (1-2) years experience assisting in performing laboratory assays preferred. Ability to operate computer input terminal. Ability to perform phlebotomy techniques including special procedures such as blood cultures, finger and heel sticks. Communication skills to include fluent English. Typing and word processing skills required. Excellent customer service skills required.

Minimum License Requirement:

Current California CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certificate. BLS required.
