Job description

Pure Air Filtration, LLC ("Company") is wholly owned subsidiaries of Cleanwater1, Inc., a global provider of on-site hypochlorite generation equipment, polymer activation systems, chemical feed systems, air purification and odor control equipment, and potable water mixing and treatment systems serving the water and wastewater treatment industries. Cleanwater1, Inc., Inc., through its various operating subsidiaries, is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing companies in the water infrastructure market.
The Laboratory Technician Intern supports basic laboratory testing and analysis of chemical products and raw materials while gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. This role assists daily lab operations, follows established procedures and safety guidelines, and works with the manufacturing, quality, and marketing teams to support ongoing projects. The position is designed to help the intern learn laboratory skills, maintain organization, and develop teamwork and communication abilities in a fast-paced setting. This is a temporary, part-time internship based at our Norcross, Georgia facility and reports to the Director of R&D.
Essential Job Functions
  • Follow laboratory procedures outlined in the ISO 17025:2017 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Adhere to laboratory safety plan and policies defined in the quality manual.
  • Perform sample preparation including grinding, separation, extraction, and filtration.
  • Conduct analysis including pH, color changes, moisture content, density, titration, spectrophotometry scanning.
  • Document and report results and findings.
  • Conduct research and development projects aimed at enhancing analytical accuracy.
  • Support new product improvement projects.

Required Qualifications
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a chemistry-related college program or be a recent graduate
  • Must be able to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Able to work independently under minimum supervision.
  • As projects warrant, after-hours or weekend coverage will be required.
  • Be familiar with basic laboratory instrumentation
  • Be familiar with "wet chemistry" protocols with prior experience working with chemicals and solutions.
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • The preferred candidate should be able to work minimum of 20 hours per week.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time in a laboratory or industrial environment.
  • Ability to look at computer monitors for most of the workday.
  • Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and lift light materials as required for sample handling.
  • Ability to perform repetitive laboratory tasks with precision and focus.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to focus on instruments and samples.

Work Environment
  • 95% Laboratory - may be exposed to high noise levels hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.
  • 5% Light Industrial - may be exposed to high noise levels hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities.
