LabCorp is seeking an Undergraduate Laboratory Intern to join our teamat Ascension NE Wisconsin- St. Elizabeth Campus in Appleton, WI.

Work Schedule:This is a Casual/Per Diem position; hours will be "as needed" and the start and end times will vary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
  • Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
  • Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
  • If you are interested in learning phlebotomy responsibilities, a training course will be provided for you to complete

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1year or moreofmedical/lab or production experience

Additional Job Standards:

  • Currently enrolled in an MLT or MLS program
  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identifyspecimens
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • High levelof attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work in afast pacedproduction environment and meet established turn-around times
  • Strong communicationskills;both written and verbal
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
