Company Overview: Junk King Orange County/Anaheim is the leading, eco-friendly junk removal service operating in Orange County, CA. We provide professional, reliable, and friendly removal of furniture, appliances, construction debris, and estate cleanouts for residential and commercial clients. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, high-volume sales, and sustainable disposal methods (donating/recycling).

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced, high-energy General Manager (GM) to oversee all daily operations, lead a team of 14-20+ crew members, manage a fleet of 10 trucks, and drive revenue growth in the competitive Orange County market. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the P&L, focusing on maximizing efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and providing 5-star customer service. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations & Logistics:
  • Oversee daily dispatch and scheduling of crew teams to ensure maximum efficiency (4–6 jobs per crew per day) and on-time service.
  • Manage fleet maintenance, including daily truck inspections, preventive maintenance schedules, and timely repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with local Orange County disposal, recycling, and environmental regulations.


  • Team Leadership & Management:
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor new field staff and truck leads to uphold company culture and performance standards.
  • Build great relationships with internal partners including the call center, national accounts and corporate leadership.
  • Work closely with the owner and dispatch managers to insure success
  • Motivate and support morale of the team.
  • Lead daily briefings, focusing on safety, KPIs, and operational goals.
  • Resolve conflict efficiently and foster a "work hard, play hard" environment.


  • Financial & P&L Management:
  • Take accountability for the annual P&L, focusing on increasing revenue and decreasing operating expenses.
  • Maintain gross margins by controlling fuel and labor costs, as well as minimizing disposal fees through recycling and donation activities.
  • Review daily/weekly metrics to ensure profitability and accuracy in job pricing.


  • Sales & Customer Experience:
  • Drive sales growth through local networking, commercial account acquisition, and upselling services during jobs.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of digital (and other) marketing initiatives
  • Ensure exceptional service to maintain a 5-star reputation (Google/Yelp reviews).
  • Address customer service issues and resolve complaints immediately.


Requirements:

  • Experience: 3–5 years of management experience, ideally in service, logistics, or field operations (junk removal, moving, pest control, landscaping, restaurant operations, etc.).
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of 14+ hourly employees in a fast-paced environment.
  • Operational Savvy: Strong understanding of logistics, scheduling, and asset management.
  • Technology: Proficiency in, or ability to quickly learn, specialized junk removal CRM software and digital marketing activities.
  • Physical/Logistical: Valid Driver’s License with a clean record. Ability to lift heavy items (75+ lbs.) occasionally to assist with large jobs.
  • Location: Based in Orange County, CA, with knowledge of the local area.


Compensation & Benefits:
