Job description

Join our small team at Michael Hill Construction as a Carpenter/Laborer, where your skills will bring building projects to life. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites. This position provides a platform to grow your skills while contributing to impactful construction projects. We are looking for a go getter.ย A back in the day man,ย where they took charge and gave the workday their all.ย 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in constructing, installing, repairing, and remodeling structures using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Perform framing, trim carpentry, siding installation, door and window hanging, decks and coverings, new remodels, new and old construction work.
  • Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining a clean and organized work environment on-site.
  • Must be able to work in all bad weather conditions year long. Indoor and outdoor work.
  • Must be a self-starter,ย and work at a steady pace when Boss is not on site.
  • Follow safety protocols diligently and communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth project flow.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Reliable daily transportation.
  • No standing around, learn to set up for the next task. If you don't know what to do, thenย ask. No standing around on the job site.ย 
  • No draws within the first 60 days of work.ย 

Experience

  • Prior experience working on construction sites with knowledge of construction but will train ongoing if needed.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and have your own tool bags.
  • Proficiency with hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels) and power tools (drills, saws) used in construction environments.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail across multiple tasks.
