Warehouse & Assembly Associate

Full-Time | Wichita

Compensation: Starting at $18 per hour

Position Summary

The Warehouse & Assembly Associate supports daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production operations within the Architectural Millwork Service Department. This position is responsible for safely handling materials, loading finished cabinets and components, organizing warehouse inventory, assisting with product staging, and supporting assembly-line production as needed.

This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, hands-on, safety-minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop or warehouse environment. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a willingness to assist wherever needed to keep production and deliveries moving efficiently.

Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse & Material Handling
  • Load, unload, move, and stage cabinets, millwork products, materials, hardware, and finished goods.
  • Assist with preparing products for delivery and shipment.
  • Verify materials, cabinets, and components against work orders, packing lists, or production schedules.
  • Safely move products throughout the warehouse and shop using proper lifting techniques and approved equipment.
  • Organize materials and finished products in designated storage or staging areas.
  • Keep warehouse, staging, and loading areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Assist with receiving incoming materials, checking for damage, and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
  • Help maintain inventory accuracy by properly labeling, storing, and tracking materials when required.
  • Protect finished cabinets and products from damage during handling, staging, loading, and movement.
Assembly & Production Support
  • Assist production team with basic cabinet, millwork, or component assembly.
  • Support line assembly by preparing parts, hardware, tools, and materials needed for production.
  • Install basic hardware, fasteners, or components according to instructions and quality standards.
  • Help package, wrap, crate, or prepare finished products for storage, delivery, or shipment.
  • Follow work orders, labels, and verbal instructions when assisting with assembly tasks.
  • Inspect products during handling and assembly to identify defects, damage, or quality concerns.
  • Communicate issues with materials, measurements, parts, or finished products to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist machine operators, assemblers, or production leads with general support tasks as needed.
Safety, Quality & Teamwork
  • Follow all company safety policies, shop rules, and PPE requirements.
  • Use safe lifting techniques and ask for assistance when handling large, heavy, or awkward items.
  • Maintain awareness of forklifts, carts, machinery, tools, and other moving equipment in the warehouse or shop.
  • Report safety hazards, damaged products, equipment issues, or workplace concerns to leadership immediately.
  • Maintain a high level of care when handling finished cabinets and customer-ready products.
  • Work cooperatively with warehouse, production, shipping, and field teams.
  • Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn new tasks.
  • Perform other warehouse, shop, production, or general labor duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse, production, cabinet, millwork, construction, manufacturing, or general labor experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver materials and finished products.
  • Ability to read basic labels, work orders, packing lists, and written instructions.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail when handling finished products.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work safely around tools, equipment, machinery, and moving materials.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with cabinets, countertops, architectural millwork, or finished wood products.
  • Experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, production, or assembly environment.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, fasteners, hardware, and shop equipment.
  • Forklift, pallet jack, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to read tape measures and perform basic measurements.
  • Previous experience loading trucks or staging materials for delivery.
  • Basic understanding of quality control and damage prevention when handling finished products.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. regularly and heavier items with team assistance or equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, and carry materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse or shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, tools, equipment, and moving materials.
  • Ability to safely handle large, bulky, or awkward products such as cabinets, panels, doors, trim, and millwork components.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other required protective equipment.
