Job Overview:
In collaboration with the Director of the Cath lab, the Cath Lab Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operational, financial, and regulatory performance of the Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology (EP), and Neurosurgery laboratories. This role oversees daily cath lab operations, staff coordination, workflow optimization, quality initiatives, billing and supply management, scheduling efficiency, and data integrity to support exceptional patient care and organizational performance. This position supervises the Billing and Supply Coordinator, Data Coordinator, and Scheduler while collaborating closely with physicians, nursing leadership, cardiovascular technologists, and hospital administration. The manager also leads and maintains accreditation readiness and compliance for American College of Cardiology (ACC) accreditation programs, including but not limited to Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and Electrophysiology (EP).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Cardiovascular Technology, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of cardiovascular or cath lab experience required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of leadership or management experience in a hospital or procedural care setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cath lab and EP workflows, cardiovascular procedures, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Experience with ACC accreditation programs, NCDR registries, and quality reporting preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare billing, inventory management, and operational budgeting.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), cardiovascular information systems, and data management platforms.

• Direct and oversee daily operations of the Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology, and Neuro laboratories.
• Ensure efficient patient flow, procedure scheduling, staffing coordination, and resource utilization.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve throughput, quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and departmental efficiencies.
• Monitor and optimize turnaround times, room utilization, and procedural productivity metrics.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary leadership to support service line growth and operational excellence.
• Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and capital equipment planning for cath lab services.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and patient-centered work environment.
• Oversee departmental billing processes to ensure accurate charge capture and reimbursement optimization.
• Monitor inventory management, supply utilization, vendor relationships, and cost-containment initiatives.
• Review supply and equipment expenditures to support budgetary goals and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with finance and purchasing departments on contract management and cost analysis initiatives.
• Ensure accurate clinical data abstraction, submission, and reporting for cardiovascular registries and quality programs.
• Monitor departmental performance indicators, quality metrics, and patient outcomes.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and process improvement projects within the cath lab, EP, and Neuro programs.
• Lead and maintain accreditation readiness for ACC accreditation programs, including but not limited to: Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI, Electrophysiology (EP), etc.
• Ensure compliance with ACC standards, CMS regulations, DNV requirements, and hospital policies.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs supporting accreditation standards.
• Oversee procedure scheduling processes to maximize efficiency and patient access.
• Coordinate staffing and procedural resources to align with case volume and physician schedules.
• Ensure timely communication among physicians, nursing staff, anesthesia, and ancillary departments.
