Job description

We are seeking a Lab Assistant/Tutor for the Computer & Information Sciences (CIS) Department. This person will assist the Chairman of the Computer & Information Sciences Department and the CIS Academic Lab Manager in maintaining and operating the Academic Computer & Information Sciences Labs.

Example of Duties:

  • Assist in maintaining and operating the computers in Rooms H308 and H311 that provide facilities for Computer & Information Science students as required for their courses each semester.
  • Assist CIS students in using the computers and other computer equipment in conjunction with assignments in their courses.
  • Assist CIS instructors in the use of computer hardware and software for their students.
  • Tutor students on subject matter that is part of the course syllabus in CIS courses.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Chairman of the CIS Department and the CIS Academic Lab Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or graduate of A.A.S. Degree Program in CIS or equivalent educational or work experience in computer field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer languages as needed.
  • Ability to communicate orally and work with people.
  • Ability to effectively assist students in the completion of their assignments.

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $15.92.
