The Position
As a Lab Technician working in our Stormwater division, you will play a crucial role in supporting our efforts to create and improve stormwater treatment products. You will conduct experiments, perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, and work closely with the team to ensure our products meet regulatory standards and perform at the highest level. Your work will directly contribute to the development of innovative products that help protect our environment.

About the role:
  • Conduct laboratory experiments under the guidance of the Lab Manager, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collect, interpret, record, and organize laboratory data.
  • Assist with sample preparation, collection, handling, and analysis.
  • Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment and testing apparatus.
  • Assist with the construction and modification of experimental setups, piping systems, pumps, and other testing equipment.
  • Prepare test reports, spreadsheets, and data summaries.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment inventories, and calibration records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data and reports that support high-quality product approvals and informed design decisions.
  • Train and assist other lab personnel as needed.
  • Keep the lab environment safe and orderly, adhere to company safety policies.
  • Assist with the overall management of the facilities.
  • Ensure lab safety follows the company's policies.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering Technology, or related field, or a combination of post-secondary education and laboratory experience.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of laboratory, technical, construction, manufacturing, or field-testing experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to review, analyze, and present data systematically.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to construct and develop laboratory apparatus from basic ideas.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Technical skills in construction tools, plumbing/pumps, hydraulics, controls, water treatment, and sampling preferred.
  • Experience or training in construction practices, electrical systems, and electronics preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50-lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in laboratory and testing environments for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable to work both indoors and outdoors as activities require.
