JOB SUMMARY
Marymount University is seeking dedicated and skilled Nursing Lab and Simulation Instructors to join our team in preparing the next generation of nurses. Lab and simulation faculty play a vital role in shaping the clinical skills, confidence, and professional growth of our students-helping them transition from learners to colleagues in the nursing profession.
Under the supervision of the Director of Lab and Experiential Learning, Nursing Lab Instructors:
  • Deliver instruction in nursing clinical skills and provide technical support during simulation.
  • Support lab readiness and smooth operation of skills labs and simulation scenarios.
  • Contribute to student learning through instruction, mentorship, and facilitation of hands-on experiences.
  • Assist with lab operations including maintaining supplies, ensuring equipment functionality, and supporting safe, effective learning environments.

This role combines teaching, technical support, and professional collaboration to make a lasting impact on student success and the future of the nursing profession.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up equipment, supplies and mannequins for clinical skills demonstrations according to established simulation guidelines.
  • Assist Faculty, Simulation Technician, and Lab Director in the preparation, use, monitoring, and maintenance of the nursing labs and simulation manikins.
  • Facilitation of faculty-supervised simulated nursing activities for students.
  • Provides initial or remedial instruction in nursing clinical skills and simulation for students.
  • Provide a safe, secure, and comfortable lab environment for students by keeping lab equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Assist students with supplemental instructional media.

OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS
  • Perform administrative tasks under the direction of the Director of Lab and Experiential Learning

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must possess a MSN degree, hold a current Virginia RN license, possess a minimum of one year of experience, and be physically able to perform essential duties. Experience
  • 2-3 years of teaching experience and/or professional experience in nursing; experience in student advising and teaching pre-service nurses in a university setting.
