ARSIEM is looking for a motivated Network Engineer to implement, maintain, and support the lab network infrastructure. This position will support one of our Government clients in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities
  • Leverage advanced analytical and technical skills to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enhance mission execution and support command decision-making.
  • Support the integration of new technologies and equipment within lab environments, including the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.
  • Assess network topology and device configurations, identify critical security vulnerabilities, and recommend security best practices.
  • Provide user support for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), such as Citrix, as well as macOS and iOS platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a broad range of technical issues, from basic to complex network problems
  • Implement granular access controls, monitor system performance and accessibility, establish and maintain backup protocols, and ensure system security.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex enterprise storage issues across local and wide area networks, including replication strategy support and remediation of storage-related incidents.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust network environments by configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as updating network devices and performing IP address audits to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Ensure optimal network performance by troubleshooting issues, enforcing system standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize infrastructure.
  • Secure network systems through policy enforcement, access controls, and continuous monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or related degree; or HS Diploma and 7+ years of network administration, network engineering, or systems administration experience.
  • 5+ years of directly relevant experience in network administration
  • Proficiency with multiple operating systems, including Linux/Unix and macOS
  • Strong knowledge and experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Experience and knowledge of networking and network administration
  • Skilled in working with virtual desktop environments (Citrix, VMware)
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switches
  • Experience with converged infrastructure solutions (e.g., FlexPod) and NetApp storage systems
  • Proficiency with Cisco Intersight, vCenter, and virtualization automation/optimization
  • Strong documentation skills for technical procedures and SOPs
  • Capable of creating and maintaining network diagrams
  • Demonstrated experience in network design, implementation, and performance tuning
  • Project management capabilities and excellent time-management skills
  • Expertise in hardening network devices and infrastructure for enhanced security
  • Desired Certifications: DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II, Network+, CCNA

Clearance Requirement: Must have an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
