Your Day to Day as a Met Lab Engineer 2:
  • Provides technical support for lab personnel, lab processes, and lab inspection equipment.
  • Provides technical documentation/Metallographic reports to internal and external customers.
  • Interprets contract technical requirements and incorporates into area procedures and processes.
  • Supports a project team, communicating status of any technical or production issues.
  • Develops and implements new or improved inspection techniques.
  • Creates and revises procedures, forms, and submittals.
  • Creates and submits quotes for future work scopes.
  • Maintains and trends relevent manufacturing/inspection data and key product attributes.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in an assigned area of cognizance.
  • May be expected to qualify as a Met Lab Examiner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Engineering or Physics is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience.
  • Must have basic competency with programming.
  • Must have experience in understanding, reviewing, and executing contract technical requirements.
  • Must demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have experience providing instructions and guidance to hourly workforce.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative enviroment is required.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail in order to successfully multi-task.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Lower Tier NR product is preferred.
  • Experience in the qualification of new process, product, or equipment preferred.
