Position Summary
Provides administrative support, performs clerical and customer service functions, as well as non-technical duties. Will help cover duties for the following: Inventory tech, front office reception, and limited Aide/Unit Clerk responsibilities. While performing Aide/Unit Clerk duties will be under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities.
Reports to: Supervisor/ Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree (Preferred). *Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.
Licenses: None Listed
Certifications: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
Minimum Work Experience
1 year in healthcare experience (Preferred)
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Essential Functions
Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
Maintains patient records, charts, and other documentation in legible, accurate, and appropriate format to ensure an accurate record of the patient's medical treatment.
Performs general support tasks in the following areas: stocking supplies, maintaining the unit environment, and clerical tasks.
Evaluates and restocks inventory for cath lab and Prep unit.
Processes and submits product orders.
Works with vendor and manufactures to obtain products for special procedures.
Receives and directs patients into the hospital.
Non-Essential Functions
Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.
Participates and attends meetings as required and/ or assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
