Job description

Job Title: Lab Technician Location: Aston, PA Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Assist Laboratory Manager in performing daily laboratory functions, including sample preparation, instrumental analysis by ICP or atomic absorption, titration assays for silver, and fire assays.
  • Clean, operate, and maintain ICP and AA instruments.
  • Conduct titrations and fire assays accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Perform ammonia testing using Ion Selective Electrode (ISE).
  • Manage inventory and order supplies for the laboratory.
  • Contribute to analytical method development for non-routine materials.
  • Prepare standards and reagents as needed for daily analysis.
  • In the absence of the Laboratory Manager, perform necessary functions normally handled by the manager.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline with laboratory experience or at least two years’ coursework toward a Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline with academic lab experience. Inorganic Chemistry is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency and experience with laboratory software.
  • Well-organized, capable of multitasking, and effective in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to be versatile and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with hazardous chemicals preferred.
  • Experience in safety programs preferred.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background checks required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
