Job description

USA Health – Medical Assistant Opportunities
Location: Mobile, AL
Schedule: Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm
Pay: $14.60–$17.52/hour DOE

Join the USA Health team as a Medical Assistant! We have multiple openings ranging from entry-level to advanced roles in clinical and specialty settings. These positions offer an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment and grow into a permanent role with one of the region’s leading medical providers.

Responsibilities

Depending on assignment and experience level, duties may include:

  • Preparing examination rooms and positioning patients for exams and procedures
  • Taking patient histories, vital signs, and measurements (pulse, temperature, BP, height, weight)
  • Assisting providers during exams, procedures, and treatments
  • Performing phlebotomy, EKGs, wound care, and medication administration as directed
  • Collecting and preparing lab specimens; performing basic lab tests
  • Maintaining medical records and updating patient information in the EMR
  • Coordinating patient flow and scheduling appointments
  • Communicating with patients regarding care instructions, prescriptions, and follow-up
  • Managing supplies, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining exam rooms
  • Providing administrative support including insurance forms, billing, and documentation

Advanced MA roles may also include:

  • Serving as lead MA in the clinic and coordinating workflow
  • Training and mentoring other staff
  • Handling triage, prescription transmission, and pre-authorization tasks
  • Acting as liaison between providers, patients, and families

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
