Pride Health is hiring a Medical Lab Technician II to support our client's medical facility in Fairhope, AL. This is a great opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional with Generalist and Blood Bank experience looking to work in a clinical laboratory environment. Location: Fairhope, AL 36532
Pay Rate: $25-$28/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Weekends: Rotating weekends
Education: Associate Degree
Experience: 2-4 years of clinical laboratory experience
Specialty: Generalist with Blood Bank experience
Job Responsibilities
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex laboratory testing according to departmental SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain and replenish laboratory testing supplies.
  • Assist with specimen processing as needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow appropriate PPE requirements.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a degree meeting applicable CLIA/state requirements.
  • 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
  • Generalist laboratory experience with Blood Bank experience.
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred/required based on applicable requirements.
  • State Medical Technician license may be required.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Computer proficiency; experience with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision screening.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs.
