QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree or higher; 48 college credits in education or Work Keys test; computer skills required and prefer experience working in an elementary classroom setting.
REPORTS TO: Building Leaders
SUPERVISES: NA
JOB GOAL: To increase pupils' mastery of basic skills
To achieve academic skills appropriate to individual aptitude.
To reduce students' failure rate.
To teach students to integrate everyday classroom activities to the world of technology.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (not necessarily limited to the following):
  1. Teach students how to use computers for computer based instruction.
  2. Train students to adapt classroom learning to multi-media computer exhibitions.
  3. Order computer programs to help enhance student needs.
  4. Teach computer terminology to students.
  5. Attend all technology training held by the district.
  6. Report needed software to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Teach students word processing.
  8. Keep an inventory of all computers, equipment and software in the remedial lab.
  9. Perform basic maintenance on computers.
  10. Be a positive role model for students, parents and the community.
  11. All other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 187 days.
Salary for this position shall be commensurate with the years of experience as determined under the policies and procedures of the Moss Point School District and in accordance with the pay scale.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Trustees' policy on evaluation of District personnel.
