Job description

Work Schedule: This is a per diem, 2nd shift position scheduled from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with required shifts on various weekends.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

The Laboratory Assistant I may verify, process (including complex and multiple step procedures) and prepare specimens for clinical lab, reference and/or point of care testing. Communicates lab related information including but not limited to results to customers (within and outside of the organization). May perform maintenance as directed and maintain department supply par levels including distribution as necessary. May assist with quality assurance data collection and recording, as well as action/follow-up. Performs varies lab related administrative duties.

The Laboratory Assistant I projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct, and supports the laboratory and Hoag's mission. Maintains current knowledge of departmental updates, policies and procedures. Uses initiative to resolve problems with appropriate action and follow through, including documentation.ย 

Performs other duties as assigned.
