Job description

Ivy Tech Bloomington is searching for a part-time Therapeutic Massage Lab Assistant to provide assistance (classes, labs, & clinicals) within the Therapeutic Massage Program; assist academic administrators with overseeing the campus massage clinic, obtaining proper documentation of clinical paperwork from students, communicating with clinical sites regarding clinical externship requirements, and any support needed for labs or other relevant program duties.
This position is for 20 hrs per week and pay $25.00 an hour. Interested applicants must have a current Indiana State massage License and minimum of three years of directly related work experience. Please apply as soon as possible but before Aug 10th.
General purpose and scope of the position: The Part Time - Lab Assistant provides assistance (classes, labs, & clinicals) within the Therapeutic Massage Program; assist academic administrators with overseeing the campus massage clinic, obtaining proper documentation of clinical paperwork from students, communicating with clinical sites regarding clinical externship requirements, and any support needed for labs or other relevant program duties.
Major
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain student clinic operations, such as, scheduling clients, answering clinic calls, client filing, and assisting students with laundering linens.
2. Organize student massage community outreach events.
3. Willing to travel, assist with community outreach events.
4. Organize student externships with affiliated clinical sites.
5. At times will assist with tutoring students within on course content with weaknesses have been identified.
6. Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of student enrollment records in compliance with College and the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA).
7. All other duties as assigned, consistent with commonly accepted practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possesses a current Indiana State massage license, and
  • At least three years of directly related work experience. experience in health care discipline

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Recognizes the need to maintain accuracy and confidentiality of student course records. A team player who presents themselves in the professional manner we expect within our industry and program.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
