Location: Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab
Schedule: 24 Hours (Days/Evenings/Nights)
ABOUT THE Perioperative Services/IR Cath Lab DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER:
The new Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology(EP) and Interventional Radiology labs are part of the Integrated Procedural Platform (IPP) on the 2nd floor of the Menino building. All of the procedural areas will perform diagnostic as well as interventional procedures. Cardiac Cath Lab procedures include complex coronary artery revascularization, invasive physiologic and hemodynamic assessments, and minimally invasive structural heart disease interventions, including percutaneous valve replacement and repairs. The Electrophysiology Lab performs EP studies, ablations, and pacemaker/defibrillator implantations. Interventional Radiology encompasses the widest range of procedures performed by multiples services including radiology, neuro-radiology and vascular surgery.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As an RN in the Perioperative Services, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care in the cardiac cath lab and interventional radiology/ Neuro interventional radiology. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • 1+ years of RN experience preferred
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range:
$38.05- $75.33
This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
