Job description

Kurt J. Lesker Company (KJLC) is seeking a Pump Repair Technician to join our Manufacturing / Repair & Manufacturing team in Glassport, PA. This is a hands‑on, onsite role focused on evaluating, repairing, rebuilding, and testing mechanical vacuum pumps and industrial equipment. This position is ideal for mechanically inclined technicians who enjoy troubleshooting, working with tools and machinery, and supporting high‑quality repair services in a safety‑focused manufacturing environment.
Job Details: 
  • Type of Employment: Full-time
  • Location: Glassport, PA
  • Division/DepartmentManufacturing/Repair & Manufacturing
  • Reports to: Operations Manager
  • Shift: 1st (Mon-Friday)
Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, repair, rebuild, and test mechanical vacuum pumps and related industrial devices
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems including motors, sensors, and wiring
  • Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled equipment servicing
  • Follow work instructions and document repairs using an ERP system
  • Read and interpret part numbers, schematics, and measuring tools
  • Operate machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Maintain safety standards and comply with company policies
  • Safely operate a forklift (certification required or obtainable)
  • Participate in continuous improvement through the 6S Program
  • Collaborate across departments to support service center operations
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and follow product schematics and election part descriptions
  • Intermediate technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to obtain a forklift certification and safely operate the forklift
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet applications
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted
  • Fluent in English (reading and writing)
Preferred:
  • Two or more years of technical troubleshooting or repair experience
  • Experience with industrial equipment, rotating machinery, pumps, or manufacturing repair environments
