Position: Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager

Reports to: Department Manager - Civil


Responsibilities:

- Manage multiple civil/site and/or highway engineering projects from proposal through final design and construction support.

- Lead and supervise multidisciplinary engineering and CAD design teams. 

- Develop project scopes, schedules, staffing plans, and budgets.

- Monitor project progress, profitability, and resource allocation.

- Review and approve project invoices, change orders, and project financial reports.

- Coordinate with clients, contractors, subconsultants, utility companies, regulatory agencies and other KSE departments.

- Oversee and prepare civil/site/highway engineering design documents for transportation, municipal, commercial, and public infrastructure projects.

- Perform and review engineering design for: Site/civil design including grading, roadway, storm water management, green infrastructure, water and sewer mains, signing, and erosion and sediment control design.

- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, quantity estimates, and construction cost estimates.

- Direct the preparation of construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

- Conduct field investigations, site assessments, infrastructure inventories, utility coordination, and observe geotechnical investigations including soil borings.

- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.

- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff while providing technical leadership throughout project execution.

Requirements

Educational/Professional Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey or New York is required. Candidates licensed in another state must be able to obtain reciprocity in NJ and/or NY within a reasonable timeframe.

- Minimum 8 years of civil/site engineering experience is desired but not required.

- Minimum 5 years of experience managing multiple civil/site engineering projects and leading design teams is desired but not required.

- Familiarity with agencies standards and protocols including: NJDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NJDEP, NYSDEC, NYCDEP. Familiarity with NYCDDC, PANYNJ, and NJTA is a plus

- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, staffing, and client relationships.


Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods (often 6-8 hours a day).

- Maintaining posture while working at a computer.

- Short periods of standing or walking within the office (to printers, meeting rooms, etc.).
