Job description

The Maintenance Supervisorwill perform duties which support the company?s KPO as well as verify all operations related maintenance to ensure OSHA, personal safety, product quality, FDA/USDA guidance, and BRCGS standards are met.This position is responsible for maintaining equipment performance as well as seeking improvement. It is also responsible for supporting all compliances including food safety/hygiene and personal safety. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:Maintain the high standard of quality products being produced and follow Company Policies, BRCGS standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Work with the HR/safety department to improve the work environment and enhance personal safety.Establish and manage maintenance programs and policies, and monitor implementation across processing, warehouse, packaging, maintenance, and sanitation areas.Conduct training of machine operations for production and maintenance employees.Manage scheduling for internal and outsourced maintenance in coordination with the production scheduler.Set key indicators of machinery performance and improve outcomes in breakdowns, downtime, defects, and accidents.Work with upper management in facility improvement projects and new equipment commissioning when neededPerform work requiring skills such as electrical, refrigeration, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, plumbing, fabricating, and other related areas as needed.Direct and participate in all maintenance activities, including assisting contractors when required.Manage parts inventory and order parts when necessary.Responsible for completing maintenance work in cooperation with the production supervisors and operations managers to ensure minimal downtime.Perform reactive repairs when required and preventative maintenance according to schedule.Responsible for trouble shooting of machinery to minimize down time; acts with a strong sense of urgency to on-floor calls and emergencies.Operate the following machinery/equipment in compliance with OSHA, GMPs, SOP?sHand toolsPower toolsWelding/cutting equipmentCompressed airBoom and scissor LiftForkliftAmmonia systemsEnsure that all required documentation is completed correctly and on time. This may include daily time sheets, pre-operation forms, preventative maintenance logs, temperature recording and equipment monitoring, work orders etc.Responsible for housekeeping and maintaining a tidy, clean and safe work area on the production floor and in the maintenance area.Must practice good communication skills with team members, production and managementPerforms other duties as required.Preferred Qualifications/ Expectations:High School Graduate or GED, post-secondary education and training preferred5+ years of work experience in food manufacturing (HACCP, BRCGS, FSMA, etc.)Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilityExperience in ammonia systems are a plusMust be able to work with minimal supervisionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be flexible to come in anytime in case of a facility or machinery emergencyBe able to read and comprehend English instructions and directionsMust be able to stand during their entire shiftHave excellent work and attendance record and attend all meetings as requiredMust be prepared to work extra overtime hours as requiredPhysical requirements include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
