Job description

Position: Truckload Operations Manager

Location: Caledonia, Wisconsin - Onsite

Job Type: Full-Time

Experience Required: 5+ years

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Truckload Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of an asset-based flatbed trucking fleet currently operating approximately 80 trucks, with continued expansion planned beyond 100 trucks.

The Truckload Operations Manager will oversee transportation operations including dispatch, load planning, driver management, customer service, fleet utilization, compliance, safety, profitability, and operational performance. This position will provide leadership to dispatch personnel and professional drivers while implementing processes that improve productivity, service quality, fleet efficiency, and profitability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, dispatch, fleet management, or a related field.
  • Previous management experience within an asset-based trucking or transportation company.
  • Direct experience managing flatbed, open-deck, specialized, or similar truckload operations.
  • Strong knowledge of dispatch operations, load planning, fleet utilization, driver management, and customer service.
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), weight laws, and transportation safety requirements.
  • Experience monitoring fleet profitability, operating performance, and transportation KPIs.
  • Proven leadership experience managing dispatch teams and professional drivers.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), and fleet management technology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transportation environment.
