Operations Manager (AMP)

ATI is currently looking for an Operations Manager leading our additive parts operation in Margate, FL. We are seeking an experienced individual who is eager to lead a team during a period of growth in our organization.

Primary Purpose of this Job

The primary purpose of this job is to provide leadership and direction in the day-to-day additive operations to accomplish business objectives in the areas of Safety, People, Quality, OTD, and Cost for the assigned operations. Processed focus and results driven to increase trust and decrease risk. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

Essential Skills and Functions:

  • Create and drive a high engagement culture with an emphasis on continuous improvement using lean principles to improve safety, people, quality, responsiveness, and cost.
  • Build a climate that empowers and motivates associates at all levels to perform at their highest levels by establishing clear direction, developing stretch goals, providing necessary resources to complete tasks and requiring accountability.
  • Continually measure, monitor and analyze production performance and make necessary adjustments to meet business objectives, you are responsible for shipment goals.
  • Be able to perform all pre- and post-build requirements of AMS7003
  • Communicate with the production planner and manage the department scheduling that include FIFO, demand planning and forecasting
  • Knowledge of operational excellence including KPI's (utilization, efficiency, productivity, WIP aging, etc.) and
  • Lead team in daily management
  • Write new and correct existing documents to reflect current work practices.
  • Evaluate performance, recommend appropriate disciplinary action as needed, and interpret and enforce ATI's policies
  • Eliminate waste through standardization, best practices, and verbatim compliance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to both internal customers and third-party requirements.
  • Operate and manage measuring tools and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret production blueprints
  • Execute equipment maintenance programs.
  • Manage supply chain including writing supplier PO's and timelines
  • Ability to assist in employee selection, training, supervision, and evaluation
  • Serve as the facility security officer (FSO) and direct activities of the assistant security facility officer (ASFO) to maintain our authorization to operate by the defense counterintelligence security agency (DCSA).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or business-related field. MBA a plus.
  • At least 10 years of progressive management experience
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DoE) and Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance - ATI sponsored

Experience Required

  • 5 years' experience managing others
  • Strong additive manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proven experience of achieving targets in a dynamic high mix/low volume production environment required

Knowledge of:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point at a minimum) required to accomplish day-to-day work activities and willingness to learn additional programs.
  • Basic operations processes - ERP (Epicor), job routings/traveler, planning, purchasing and supply chain, quality system, maintenance, capital deployment.
  • Additive manufacturing specifically metal printing, knowledge of metal powders (PSD, sieving, alloy designations), you must be able to operate a laser powder bed machine
  • Knowledge of the safe handling of fine powder filters and hazardous waste and highly dangerous (flammable, explosive) materials
  • Highly machined components
