Job description

Description
This position is primarily responsible for performing imaging examinations utilizing complex imaging equipment. The CT Technologist operates a multi-slice scanner and accompanying power injector. Performs patient care services relevant to imaging procedures to include IV access starts and injection of contrast. Maintains log of procedures completed, performs QA, insures availability of supplies and responsible for maintaining current CT knowledge base. This position requires interaction with radiologists and referring physicians. The CT Tech performs job duties with independence and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Education Required: Graduate of a two year accredited radiography program (JRCERT accredited preferred).
Licensure/Certification Required: Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Registered in subspecialty preferred. BCLS certification within 6 months of hire.
Experience/Knowledge Required: Must have equivalent of two years experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
