Job description

Responsible for preparing congregate and home-delivered meals for Senior Center participants in accordance with program regulations, guidelines, and schedules. Cleans and maintains kitchen and equipment as directed by the Senior Center Program Coordinator.
Requirements
  • Prepare required congregate and home-delivered meals daily in accordance with program regulations and guidelines.
  • Prepares food accurately to produce a high-quality outcome.
  • Uses supplies, time and equipment effectively.
  • Assist in daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and equipment.
  • Properly prepare frozen meals and store leftover foods.
  • Assist kitchen staff in all aspects of kitchen operations.
  • Maintain food and kitchen supply inventory.
  • Assist Senior Center Program Coordinator in compiling food orders from vendors.
  • Assist in unloading food and kitchen supply deliveries.
  • Inventory all donated food items.
  • Complete all training as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bulk food preparation experience preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must provide proof of physical exam upon hire.
  • Must provide proof of or obtain First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience in working with elderly or disabled individuals is preferred
