Job description

Come join our team! Spencer Manor Winery in beautiful Saint James, MO is looking for a Kitchen Manager! Must be friendly, punctual, and a team player. Management related experience is preferred but Kitchen Management experience is required. We are a fast paced, busy winery restaurant that takes reservations and has a waitlist. Please include current availability in response. Must have weekend availability. Preference given to those with open availability.

Job Requirements for the Kitchen Manager position:

  • At least 2-years of experience in a managerial kitchen position.
  • Ability to work nights including weekends/holidays.
  • Alcohol and wine knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of restaurant industry operations, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Knowledge of Restaurant POS Software
  • Knowledge of P&L Statements
  • Ability to understand and work with a sense of urgency.
  • ServSafe Certified or equivalent a plus

  • Assist in overseeing daily operations of the business
  • Assist in coordinate and direct all food preparation, from prep through service
  • Assist in creating new strategies for growth and putting them into practice
  • Assist in training new staff | Dishwasher, Prep Cook, Line Cook
  • Recognizing, motivating, coaching and training all team members in order to achieve operational excellence
  • Consistently demonstrate “How we work together” principles
  • Maintain the highest possible level of customer service through training and follow up.
  • Monitor the quality of all food
  • Responsible for inventory controls | inventory counts
  • Adhere to Local Health Department code and company safety/security policies & procedures
  • Responsible for conducting performance reviews
  • Ensure maintenance of equipment/facility/grounds through the use of a preventative maintenance plan based on corporate standards
  • Cuts, prepares and cook food according to company guidelines and recipes
  • Cleans and organizes kitchen area as well as walk-in and freezer
  • Able to learn, follow and enforce company policies, Kitchen procedures and sanitation guidelines
  • Able to assist Executive Chef in all management responsibilities in Department
  • Assist in receiving and unloading of deliveries
  • Take stock to storage or shelf area
  • Keep Executive Chef informed of low inventory conditions or spoilage problems as well as maintain accurate inventory levels and help take monthly product inventory
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products according to Company Policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods
  • Assist in preparation of food products
  • Perform all duties according to Company Policies and Procedures
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed
  • Greet guests and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance.
