Position Description
The Cook/Food Prepper is responsible for preparing high-quality food items consistently and safely while maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen environment. This role includes hands-on food preparation, basic oversight of other kitchen staff, inventory tracking, and contributing to a positive team-oriented atmosphere. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining food quality standards and minimizing waste. This position will be scheduled between 25-29 hours per week.
Qualifications
Required: Strong knife skills and familiarity with basic kitchen equipment. Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency. Understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines. Willingness to obtain Serv-Safe Certification. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods. Team-oriented attitude with the ability to help others and maintain a positive work culture.
Preferred: Previous experience in food preparation or cooking preferred but not required. Familiarity with café or food service operations. Understanding and history of positive customer service.
