SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Cabinet Designer is responsible for creating functional, aesthetically pleasing cabinet designs that meet customer needs while aligning with company standards and project requirements. This role works closely with customers, sales representatives, builders, contractors, and internal teams to develop customized cabinetry solutions, prepare design layouts, and ensure a seamless experience from concept through project completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet with customers to understand project goals, design preferences, budget, and functional requirements.
  • Design kitchen, bath, and other cabinetry layouts using industry-standard design software.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, renderings, specifications, and material selections.
  • Recommend cabinetry products, finishes, hardware, and accessories that align with customer needs and project budgets.
  • Review plans and measurements to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
  • Generate quotes, proposals, and product specifications.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Project Managers, Installers, and vendors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Revise designs based on customer feedback and project changes.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, design files, and project documentation.
  • Stay current on cabinetry trends, design styles, building codes, and product offerings.
  • Support customers throughout the design and selection process while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with showroom merchandising and product displays as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of cabinet design, kitchen and bath design, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience with cabinet design software such as 2020 Design, Cabinet Vision, ProKitchen, or similar programs.
  • Strong understanding of cabinetry construction, materials, and installation processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and construction drawings.
  • Strong mathematical and spatial reasoning skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
