As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the Kitchen Manager and staff in preparing and delivering nutritious, high-quality meals for children while ensuring efficient kitchen operations. This role contributes to a safe, compliant, and child-centered food service program aligned with regulatory standards and the mission of providing healthy, developmentally appropriate meals.

Youth In Need has been around since 1974 helping to create safe places for the area's most vulnerable children. We have more than 400 full- and part-time staff who serve more than 8,000 children, teens and families at nearly 100 locations in six counties in Eastern Missouri.

This Position:

We are interested in a Kitchen Assistant with a minimum of two years in a commercial kitchen management, experience in training others in kitchen management and cooking techniques. Cooking in a childcare setting is preferred.

We're looking for someone with experience cooking for large groups and in a childcare setting. Knowledge of Health and Sanitation Regulations and familiarity with CACFP and related guidelines. Having your ServSafe Certification is a bonus and is required within 30 days of hire.

Ability to be CPR certified and First Aid certified required.

Drivers license is required, local travel required, and must be insurable under Youth In Need auto liability coverage. Must be sensitive to the socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of the service population.
