Job description

Provide kind and courteous meal service to residents to create a pleasing meal service.

Assume responsibility for quality of products served.

Cook and prepare food, serve meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and applicable sanitation practices.

Deliver meals to residents, set up meal trays in accordance to dietary orders and tray cards, ensure residents are served proper diet and food preferences.

Know and comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, recipes, policies and procedures.

Serve all meals and snacks at the scheduled time

Keep the kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining rooms clean and sanitary at all times, including work areas and floors.

Comply with cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.

Properly stores pots, dishes and utensils.

Comply with fire safety, infection control practices and hazardous chemical practices, and use cleaners and other hazardous materials in accordance to health department procedures.

Work in the safest manner possible. Report all safety concerns to supervisor.

Comply with Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures.

Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.

Attend/complete in-service educational programs.

Comply with schedule as established by Dietary Manager.

Perform duties in a timely and orderly fashion to accomplish tasks in allotted time.

If under the age of 18, abide by posted signs for operating equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.
