Description:Position Summary

A Personal Care Attendant provides direct, hands-on support to individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. The PCA helps maintain the clientโ€™s safety, comfort, dignity, and overall well-being while promoting independence to the highest extent possible.

Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and hygiene.
  • Support with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper techniques or equipment.
  • Assist with continence care, incontinence products, and bathroom reminders.
Household Support
  • Perform light housekeeping related to the clientโ€™s care (e.g., laundry, changing linens, tidying living areas).
  • Prepare or assist with simple meals following dietary guidelines or preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
Companionship & Supervision
  • Provide social engagement, conversation, and emotional support.
  • Supervise for safety and provide redirection when needed.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, community activities, or errands (if applicable).
Health & Documentation
  • Observe and report changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to supervisors.
  • Document care notes accurately and promptly in accordance with company policy.
  • Follow the care plan and all agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum age requirement 18
  • Previous caregiving experience or formal training (preferred but not always required).
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients safely.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes.
