SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:Kids Unlimited of Oregon is looking for individuals to assist with running high quality after school programs in 8 Medford After School programs. We will need a variety of youth development specialists to serve different roles within the organization supporting student learning and development.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as a key after school or school support staff.Develop games, curriculum, projects, and activities to engage youth.Participate in professional development pertinent to duties assigned by Kids Unlimited Leadership.Assist with the supervision of students while promoting activities to enhance the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of students.Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as expected of the teacher.Give teachers or Site Managers an additional source of feedback and of ideas concerning activities while working with a group of students to reinforce learning of material or skills.Operate and care for equipment used in the program for instructional or recreational purposes.Actively participate in program improvement.Other job duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.Knowledge of developmentally appropriate activities, material, and play for early childhood, elementary, and middle-school aged students.EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:Prior experience in an elementary, middle school, or early childhood programPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects (i.e. 25 lbs.) and frequent climbing. Ability to move around the classroom including stooping, bending, standing for extended periods and moving heavy objects. Crisis intervention may require participating in physical restraints (training will be provided if the individual has not been trained in physical restraint).SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:May be asked to attend/participate in special programs or activities outside the instructional day.This description may be changed at any time.
