Job description

Description
About the Role
We're building the future of product for kids - playful, expressive, and experience-led. As a Cross-Category Kids Designer, you'll create trend-driven collections across accessories, lifestyle, and gifting, with a core focus on beauty and hair. This is about designing products that aren't just worn or used - but played with, shared, and experienced. From tactile formats to "get ready with me" moments, you'll bring to life products that sit at the intersection of creativity, self-expression, and fun.
Key Responsibilities
Design Across Categories (with Beauty & Hair at the Core)
• Concept and design collections spanning accessories, gifting, and experiential products, anchored in beauty and hair.
• Create innovative beauty and hair-led experiences - from styling kits and DIY formats to interactive and collectible products.
• Build cohesive product worlds that connect across categories while maintaining a strong beauty identity.
Create Experience-Led Product
• Design with play, discovery, and repeat engagement in mind.
• Develop products that tap into behaviors like "get ready with me," customization, and social sharing.
• Push boundaries on formats, materials, and usability to create standout experiences.
Collaborate Across CFTs
• Partner with Merchandising to shape assortments that balance creativity with commercial needs.
• Work with Brand & Marketing to ensure product storytelling is cohesive across campaigns and channels.
• Align with Planning to meet margin, volume, and timeline goals.
• Collaborate with Production to bring designs to life with quality and speed.
Drive Innovation & Trend Relevance
• Stay ahead of trends across beauty, hair, accessories, and play.
• Identify whitespace opportunities, especially in beauty-meets-play and hair experimentation.
• Continuously evolve product to stay fresh, relevant, and exciting.
Who You Are
• A designer who understands kids' behavior first - curious, expressive, and experience-driven.
• Passionate about beauty and hair, with a strong point of view on how they are explored and experienced.
• Fluent in AI-powered design tools and excited by new ways of creating.
• A strong storyteller who can bring ideas to life visually and conceptually.
• Comfortable working across categories in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Qualifications
• 3+ years in product design, ideally within kids, across varying categories - beauty experience is ideal
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Brand, Planning, Development).
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite + experience with AI design tools.
• Understanding of materials, product development, and retail environments.
Why This Role Matters
• Our kid's destination is a powerful entry points into creativity, confidence, and self-expression. This role is about bringing that to life across categories, creating products that feel immersive, intuitive, and fun.
• You'll help shape how Claire's shows up for kids - not just as a place to buy products, but as a destination for beauty and hair experiences.
The Energy
• Playful. Fast-moving. Creative. Experimental.
• Think: beauty meets play, hair as self-expression, and products designed to be used, shared, and loved on repeat.
