Parts Warehouse Associate - Kearny Mesa Ford/Kia

Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

The Parts Warehouse Associate organizes, distributes, and controls the flow of parts to the various areas of the parts department. The candidate must be professional with the ability to ensure that parts distributed are timely and correct. The Parts Warehouse Associate will also ensure that overall operations within the warehouse are kept efficient and uniform.

Essential Functions:

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments of automotive parts, verifying accuracy and quality.
  • Organize and store parts and accessories in designated warehouse locations.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and audits to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Update inventory records and assist with stock replenishment as needed.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare parts for shipment or delivery based on customer orders and internal requests.
  • Ensure accuracy of order fulfillment, including verifying part numbers and quantities.
  • Label and package parts according to company standards and shipping requirements.
  • Coordinate with dispatchers and delivery personnel to schedule and manage outbound shipments.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
  • Maintain an organized and clean warehouse environment to ensure efficient operations and safety.
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers to address order issues or discrepancies.
  • Assist with returns and exchanges, following company policies and procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines for handling and storing automotive parts and chemicals.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and received parts.
  • Complete and file necessary paperwork related to inventory and shipping.
  • Locate and pull automotive parts from inventory based on work orders, repair orders, or customer requests.
  • Ensure parts are pulled accurately and in a timely manner to meet service or repair deadlines.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining inventory in an orderly and accessible manner.
  • Monitor stock levels and report low or out-of-stock items to management.
  • Verify that parts are in good condition and free from damage before preparing them for delivery or installation.
  • Ensure the correct part numbers and quantities are pulled as specified in orders.
  • Prepare parts for delivery to service technicians, repair shops, or customers.
  • Label and package parts appropriately to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts pulled and any discrepancies or issues encountered.
  • Update inventory management systems with information on parts pulled and stock levels.
  • Provide assistance to service technicians and other staff in locating and identifying parts.
  • Address any questions or concerns related to parts availability or specifications.
  • Work closely with other warehouse staff, parts counter associates, and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • May need to drive company vehicles on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide support and assistance to team members as needed.
  • Excellent communication and customer service within the organization, including sales, staff, and teamwork with other warehouse associates and delivery drivers.
  • Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver automotive parts to designated locations.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one year of verifiable driving experience.
  • Basic understanding of automotive industry.
  • Required to take and pass on the job forklift certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record; required to have California driver's license within 30 days following date of hire.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or automotive parts environment.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use warehouse management and inventory systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving parts.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stands, walks, sits; uses hands; frequently reaches with hands and arms; frequently talks and hears.
  • Occasionally climbs or balances; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, squats or crawls; occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

  • May involve working in varying temperatures and conditions depending on the warehouse setting.
  • Requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Noise level is moderate.
