Qualification Requirements:

  • Experience in Science, Engineering, Environmental or Health and Safety disciplines.
  • An understanding of Risk Management, certified management systems and auditing programs.
  • Sound Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to learn and adapt to several information technologies systems.
  • The ability to co-ordinate and manipulate large amounts of data from varying sources into succinct and well-structured reports.
  • Ability to interact and build strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders, at all levels of the business.
  • Effective time management, attention to detail, and competing priorities management skills.
  • A willingness to be self-motivated and hands-on while working un-supervised.
  • Complete all safety training.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance in accordance with policy.
  • Meet productivity standards with error ratio standard (1 per 1,000).
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Maintain housekeeping assignments.
  • Comply with necessary PPE, as required.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Able to climb rolling ladder to place/remove items.
  • Able to operate a pallet jack.
  • Manage the efficient flow of inbound material by directing and supervising receiving team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Must be experienced in OSHA recordkeeping requirements.

Basic Functions:

As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and health of all employee across all shifts. You will foster a safety-first atmosphere and motivate employees to remain injury free throughout all work sites. The Safety Coordinator will identify, coordinate, automate, or improve safety processes and tasks, and enable execution lead by the Director of Safety.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Customer Service

  • Assist the site in maintaining compliance with all aspects of the GAA environment, Health and Safety policies, processes, and systems.
  • Assist the site in upholding compliance with ISO, and OHSAS standards.
  • Provide support in risk assessments, incident investigation and the appropriate corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation of site EHS compliance and risk mitigation programs to meet regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Support and deliver site awareness and training programs on Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and responsibilities. Help with projects and other initiatives in support of the site achieving EHS KPIs.
  • Act as site administrator and subject matter expert for the corporate EHS system.
  • Develop effective reporting/analysis tools for Environmental, Health and Safety key performance indicators.
  • Provide administrative support to the site EHS Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

· Strong detail and organization skills, along with being able to multi-task.

  • Ability to communicate professionally with customer by phone, text, email, and in person.
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations.
  • Provide analyses, suggestions, and ideas for the improvement of operations within the shift, department, and facility.
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with local state, federal, federal safety regulations as well as OSHA compliance and DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance.

Data Entry

· Moderate computer skills.

· Some knowledge of Microsoft office is a plus.

  • Must have advanced Microsoft Excel experience and knowledge.

Other Requirements

· Follow established guidelines for equipment maintenance.

· Assist with inventory research projects as requested.

· Assist Operations Manager and Supervisor with duties as assigned.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Capable of handling frequent interruptions.

· Six months experience working in a warehouse/logistics environment preferred.

Has the authority to stop production if defective or unsafe parts or condition appear. Has the authority to reject non-conforming material from the supplier. Is empowered to prevent non-conforming material from reaching the customer.
