As a leader in advanced surface solutions and manufacturing technologies, we are at the forefront of helping aerospace, power generation, and industrial customers improve performance, reliability, and sustainability through cutting-edge coating, material, and equipment solutions.
We are looking for a Key Account Manager for our NE Territory. In this remote role, you will join our fast-paced, expanding sales team and drive proactive value creation and revenue growth across strategic accounts. This position offers the opportunity to work with industry-leading technologies, global aerospace and industrial customers, and a team of experts committed to innovation and customer success.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Perform B2B sales activities from lead generation through closure within the Aerospace and Power Generation segments.
  • Promote and sell advanced coating solutions, materials, and equipment, including Thermal Spray, Laser Clad, Welding, and Thin Film technologies.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with sales management, accounting, engineering, and technical services teams.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting and market research.
  • Formulate growth strategies for key accounts and maximize customer value and market penetration.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer operations, initiatives, challenges, and strategic goals.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and field intelligence utilizing CRM tools.
  • Create and maintain account plans highlighting customer profiles, market share, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and manage agreements for equipment, materials, and engineered systems that support business growth and long-term partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong executive and operational relationships within strategic first-tier accounts, including global leaders in the Aerospace and Power Generation markets

Your Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of technical sales and key account management experience.
  • Established network of operational, technical, supply chain, and business decision-makers within the thermal spray, thin film, aerospace, or related advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Technical aptitude in Thermal Spray Coatings, HVAF, Laser Cladding, Welding, and Thin Film technologies.
  • Aerospace industry experience required.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to develop and grow strategic projects while coordinating cross-functional resources.
  • Adaptable to changing market conditions, customer needs, and new technologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 70%, primarily within the Mid-West region.

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $110,000 to $140,000 per year. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
