This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Role Overview

The Energy Systems Business Development Manager serves as the strategic commercial lead between EnerSys and its customers, driving growth across the rapidly evolving energy storage and energy systems market. The role is responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities, building long-term customer partnerships, and positioning EnerSys as a trusted provider of integrated energy solutions. Working across the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector, the role combines market development, consultative selling and solution-based engagement to accelerate adoption of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), energy resilience solutions, renewable energy integration, and broader energy infrastructure projects.

Main Responsibilities

•    Provide product leadership to the Enersys client base as required.
•    Professional representation to all clients of the EnerSys brands and products in keeping with our corporate guidelines.
•    Daily interaction with client base, via tools provided, to ensure every opportunity is maximised.
•    Regular reviews and updates with client base, for effective sales management and prompt issue resolution 
•    Ensure the required processes are in place for the sharing of information between EnerSys and client to facilitate effective communication and reporting, required to meet contractual agreements where in place
•    Assist in defining clear and measurable objectives and actions for the client/s business plan/s.
•    Prompt and effective introduction and training of additional and complimentary products and services for the expansion and/or extension of the relationship
•    Preparation of specific value add solution quotes and specifications in conjunction with the relevant Engineering and Product Support groups within the ENS organisation.
•    To optimise efficiencies and increase effectiveness in managing both existing client base and securing new business digital tools are in place to support the role in WA. (Salesforce & other business tools)
•    Have a comprehensive understanding of the EnerSys capabilities and product sets as well as those of our market competitors.
•    Stay attuned to changes in customer, company and regulatory compliance.
•    Be prepared to manage and/or manually assist with both large and small projects as assigned
•    Ensure effective communication and management of needs, expectations and capabilities within the EnerSys team
•    State & key account/s focus for effective utilisation of ENS resources.
•    CTA’s (Country Target Accounts)  & STA’s (Strategic Target Accounts) will be outlined for development and action through WA role.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualifications 

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management or a related discipline, or an Electrical Trade Qualification (A Grade Electrician).
•    Minimum 3-5 years' experience in business development, strategic sales, account management or solution selling within the energy, electrical, renewable energy, industrial, infrastructure or related sectors.
•    Demonstrated experience identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities with commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.
•    Strong understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power conversion systems (PCS), energy management systems (EMS), renewable energy integration and energy infrastructure solutions.
•    Proven ability to build trusted relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, utilities, and key decision-makers.
•    Commercially astute with experience developing business cases, value propositions, ROI analyses and customer proposals.
•    Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, lithium-ion systems, and grid-connected energy solutions.
•    Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
•    Ability to work collaboratively across Sales, Engineering, Service, Product Management and Operations teams.
•    Ability to manage multiple opportunities and prioritise workload in a dynamic environment.
•    Willingness to travel as required to support customer engagement and business development activities.
•    Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Preferred 

•    Current SAA accreditation (Grid-Connect PV, Battery Design, or Stand-Alone Systems).
•    Experience in microgrid or hybrid power system design.
•    Proficiency in simulation and system design software (e.g., HOMER, PVsyst, or similar).
