Description
The Key Account Executive is a relationship-driven sales role focused on growing revenue with our existing NBA, WNBA, and NHL team shop accounts. This person owns a book of established team shop buyer relationships and is responsible for retaining the business, expanding product category penetration, and driving year-over-year growth across each account. The Key Account Executive works in partnership with a dedicated Account Coordinator (handling order entry and operational support) and an Account Manager (supporting day-to-day buyer communication), allowing the Key Account Executive to focus on strategic selling, buyer relationships, and growth planning.
All candidates must complete the Aptive Talent Assessment to be considered for this role.

This role is a full-time salary role based out of our Tempe, AZ office reporting to the Director of Sales and working closely with the Executive Team. This is a not a remote role. Travel expectation is 15-20% annually.

Requirements
WHO YOU ARE FOR THE TEAM - Key Account Executive
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or wholesale account development. Experience selling into team shops, retail buyers, or licensed/branded apparel strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of growing existing accounts year-over-year, expanding product categories, and consistently hitting or exceeding revenue and performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of the wholesale sales cycle, seasonal buying calendars (fall, spring, hot market, quick turn), and how to build a strategic plan for each account.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Confident presenting to buyers, walking through line plans, and leading seasonal review and planning conversations.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Able to manage a book of accounts, prioritize across competing deadlines, and keep internal partners aligned.
  • Skilled at building rapport. Knows how to listen, ask the right questions, tell the Sportiqe story, and translate buyer needs into product and ROI conversations.
  • Resilient, composed, and solutions-oriented. Stays calm through hiccups and creates confidence for the buyer.
  • Tech and CRM proficient. Comfortable in Google Suite, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and CRM tools. Zoho experience a plus.
  • Experience in apparel, screen print, or licensed product is strongly preferred. Familiarity with NBA, WNBA, or NHL team shop business is a significant plus.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE - Key Account Executive
This is a relationship-driven, consultative sales role focused on growing existing NBA, WNBA, and NHL team shop accounts.
  • Own and grow a book of established team shop buyer relationships across the NBA, WNBA, and NHL.
  • Drive revenue growth, account retention, and new product category penetration across every account in the book.
  • Build and execute a strategic account plan for each team, including seasonal line reviews, growth targets, and category expansion opportunities.
  • Lead buyer-facing sales conversations: pitching new product, presenting line plans, negotiating deals, and closing seasonal bookings.
  • Manage fall bookings, spring bookings, hot market, and quick turn opportunities throughout the season.
  • Partner closely with your dedicated Account Coordinator on order entry and operational follow-through, and with your Account Manager on day-to-day buyer communication, so you can stay focused on strategic selling and growth.
  • Deliver a white-glove experience to every buyer through proactive communication, fast follow-up, and tight collaboration with Sales Support, Production, and Design.
  • Work closely with Sales Leaders on key house accounts and league-level strategy.
  • Analyze sell-in and sell-through data to track account performance, identify trends, and develop actionable insights that inform seasonal strategy.
  • Continue to evolve in the role by embracing feedback, sharpening product knowledge, and deepening your category expertise.
